Tour Details
At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Porto. From there, we'll head north toward Vinha Verde, one of the main viticulture regions of the northern part of Portugal.
Our first stop will be at Casa do Penedo, a unique stone house perched atop the Sierra de Fafe. Why was it built in such a remote area? How was it constructed using such large granite stones? We'll uncover these mysteries as we explore the house and its surroundings.
Next, we'll head to the area of Moinhos do Rei, where we'll go on a hiking route among countryside windmills. In the warm months of the year, we'll also go to the Praia Fluvial do Oral, where you'll have the chance to take a refreshing dip in this beautiful natural site.
Our tour of the viticulture region of Vinho Verde will continue in Moscoso, one of the prettiest towns in the comarca. In this picturesque town, we'll enjoy a delicious lunch. The menu includes a main dish (to choose between meat, fish, or a vegan or vegetarian specialty), a dessert, and a drink per person.
After lunch, we'll head to a traditional winery in the town of Cabeceiras de Basto. Here, you'll discover how vinhos verdes are made. Of course, you'll take part in a tasting to try the different varieties of these wines from northern Portugal.
Once we finish the wine tasting, we'll begin our journey back to your hotel in Porto, where we'll conclude this 9-hour activity.
Hotel Pickup
This tour includes pickup at hotels in the center of Porto. If you're staying outside this designated area, we'll pick you up at the statue of Vímara Peres, located in front of the Porto Cathedral.
